Our Story

From a small test kitchen in Guelph

Crazy Carrot began in 2019 as a small test kitchen in downtown Guelph. Even through the challenges of the pandemic, the vision never wavered — every recipe refined, operations streamlined, until every salad, wrap, bowl, and smoothie could be made fresh from scratch in under three minutes.

Our menu is a journey — vibrant influences from Mediterranean, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cuisines, blended into bold, balanced, craveable dishes. With freshly oven-roasted proteins — chicken, beef, pork, tofu, and falafel — there's always something for everyone.

What started as one small idea has grown into a movement — to make fresh food that's gourmet, fast, and accessible for everyone.

Tiered royalty fee structure — 3% for marketing and technology, and 3–7% for franchise. Most importantly, we work on a rebate program with you until you cross $1MM in sales. We work closely with our carefully chosen suppliers and pass on the discounts achieved through collective buying to you. Our packaging is sourced to achieve a 100% compostable packaging target.
🏗️Store design and buildout
Site selection, design, construction, equipment purchasing, signage, and maintenance — we've got you covered.
📈Operational support
The operational team will continue to guide you every step of the way with in-store development, employee training, food production, and systems — helping you drive efficiencies, employee retention, and profit.
📣Marketing and advertising
Social media, influencer marketing, newsletter, online ordering content, product and brand awareness campaigns — our marketing team drives engagement with customers at every opportunity.

The application process is designed to make sure we are a great fit. The Crazy Carrot franchise opportunity is one of a kind in the restaurant industry. During the process, we make you aware of the realities of owning and operating a Crazy Carrot restaurant, as well as the characteristics we are looking for in prospective candidates. We ensure you receive world-class training and onboarding to make you a confident and profitable operator.

1Submit the interest form
Reach out to us and we'll get back to you within a few days to learn more about your qualifications and experience.
2Speak with a CC representative
We will be in touch to answer your questions and share our vision for the future. We're looking forward to learning more about you and why Crazy Carrot could be the right fit.
3Determine eligibility
Tell us a little bit more about yourself. We will ask you to complete some forms to determine your financial and experience qualifications to move to the next step.
4Second meeting
You will be introduced to our operations and food preparation. We will dive deeper into a potential partnership.
5Discovery session
You will be invited to the Crazy Carrot test kitchen with one of our representatives to see first-hand how we operate our restaurants and bring our nutritious gourmet fast food menu to life. You will see us in action — serving our guests, preparing the food, maintaining par levels — and imagine how you will run your own store.
6Sign your deal
Once your application is approved, you'll sign your franchise agreement and begin preparations to own your franchise.
7Find your location
We work with you to find the perfect site based on well-supported analysis. We provide you with designs and drawings that build the authentic Crazy Carrot experience.
8Secure financing
This is the time to secure financing and build your store to get ready to open the door.
9Construction
We introduce you to our contractor and dedicated store development manager. Store build-out takes between 8–12 weeks to complete, with equipment fit-outs.
10Training
Training is the key to a successful store operation. You will spend 2 weeks training at our test kitchen and meet with our key management.
11Marketing
Our marketing and social media team will work with you on your opening strategy and walk you through the company's 12-month corporate marketing plans. You will receive expert advice on how to allocate your portion of the marketing fee.
12Opening day
We will be with you to celebrate your opening and support you as you transition into ownership.
